During the War of 1812, an American ship carrying $10 million in gold bullion is captured by its crew who want to seize the gold. The enterprising captain recaptures the ship and attacks the British.
Trivia: Director Edward Dmytryk was nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for 1947's Crossfire. In the latter part of his career he became a professor of film theory and wrote several books on film making. Angela Lansbury starred in the TV series Murder She Wrote, for which she received four Golden Globe Awards. She was nominated three times for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar, including once for The Manchurian Candidate (1962), but never winning. In 2014 she received an Honorary Academy Award from the Academy.
