Man on the Eiffel Tower (1950)

Director: Burgess Meredith
Actors: Jean Wallace, Charles Laughton, Franchot Tone, Burgess Meredith, Wilfrid Hyde-White
Runtime: 97 min.

Inspector Maigret (Charles Laughton) must hunt down a wily murderer in a case where a playboy, a psychotic student and a knife sharpener are the prime suspects. He has little proof but finally pins down the culprit on, you guessed it, The Eiffel Tower. A mystery/detective film that shows off the City of Paris to great effect.

Trivia: Director Burgess Meredith is better known as an actor. He played the Penguin in the 1960s hit TV show Batman, he was twice nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his roles in Rocky (1976) and Day of the Locust (1975) and he has appeared in every Rocky film.
