Thriller meets film-noir as handicapped farmer Pete Morgan (Robinson) lives with his sister and adopted daughter Meg (Allene Roberts) on a secluded farm. They hire Meg's friend Nath Storm (Lon McCallister) to help out around the farm, but when Nath finds a shortcut that passes by a mysterious red house in the woods, Pete warns the kids to stay away.

Trivia: Edward G. Robinson (Pete Morgan) starred in a number of legendary films including The Ten Commandments and Key Largo, he's included on AFI's list of the top 25 actors of all time. Julie London was a successful jazz/blues singer during the 1950s. She starred in the 1970s hit TV show. Emergency as nurse Dixie McCall. Rory Calhoun starred in the 1960s Western TV series, The Texan and he acted in over 80 movies and 1000 television episodes.
