Ex-convict Joe Moran (Charles Bronson) is living a quiet, happy life in the South of France with his wife (Liv Ullman) and daughter, but only until his past comes back to haunt him. When his old gang comes looking for revenge, Moran finds himself scrambling to rescue his kidnapped wife and get his life back to normal.

Trivia: This film was based on Richard Matheson's novel Ride the Nightmare and was filmed on the French Riviera around Beaulieu-sur-Mer. James Mason played Phillip Vandamm in the Hitchcock classic North by Northwest. Director Terence Young is best known for directing the first four James Bond movies. Charles Bronson was Jill Ireland's (Moira) second husband. This is one of several movies they made together.
